I began subscribing to Bon Appetit magazine a year and a half ago, and I find myself eagerly awaiting its delivery every month. I would consider myself a slightly above-average cook but don't usually have time during the work week to spend time on complicated meals. But when the weekend rolls around, I inevitably find myself opening my latest copy of Bon Appetit and diving into one of their more involved recipes. To be fair, there is a section dedicated to non-time-intensive recipes (Fast, Easy, Fresh), but I don't usually use these recipes when I'm short of time.

I received Bon Appetit magazine as a gift subscription for Christmas 2008 and after just one issue I knew I'd be renewing it. If you love good food and don't mind occasionally hunting down obscure ingredients from your grocer or farmer's market, your taste buds will thank you. Bon Appetit magazine is definitely geared towards those who have time and desire to cook (although there is a segment each month that contains specifically meals that take a half hour to cook and are appropriate for weeknights), and as such I only have a chance to use their recipes once or twice a month on the weekends. But when I do, I'm never disappointed! And there is always one recipe each month which particularly catches my eye that I simply have to make! In general I recommend this magazine if you are passionate about food and enjoy using your free time on weekends to make complicated but delicious meals!

As a chef, I love the idea of reading about food. Reading others people's recipes and cooking perspectives bring light to my own style of cooking. Bon Appetit magazine is filled with tips, tricks, techniques, etc. It's here to make you fall in love with creating great food! They offer recipes ranging from breakfast, lunch, dinner, and yes, DESSERT! yum, right?

We love Bon Appetit magazine as do many of our family members and friends, so much so we bought it as a gift for several of them at their request. The pictures are amazing and the recipes are detailed and easy to follow. The food is delicious. The only downside is that on occasion, unique ingredients are used which can be hard to find.
